Joey De Leon published an article in PhilippineStar Newspaper on July 5 2009 stating that Charice Pempengco is a USER, STUPID, and HYPOCRITE. Di namin akalain na ma-published nga ito sa isang credible na newspaper, which is PhilStar. After the article was posted in the website, few comments are pouring in and stating that they don't like what Mr. Joey De Leon wrote on his article.

Here is the full article written by Mr. Joey De Leon on PhilStar.

'Michael-Likot At In-Jackson'

ME, STARZAN By Joey de Leon Updated July 05, 2009 12:00 AM

Kasasabi ko pa lang noong isang linggo —
Kung “buhay” sa kabilang buhay ay totoo,
‘Di makikita mo mga sikat na tao
Na nauna nang mamaalam at yumao.
Nang biglang isang very important na person
Ang humabol dito sa DEADline registration,
Awww! Naku po, wala na, the “thriller” is gone,
Meron pa daw biglang naging idol s’ya,
Mabubuking mo dahil iba mga kanta,
Laging birit Beyoncé, Celine at Mariah,
Nang bumigay si MJ, umiba ang gaga.
Tigilan na nuno ng kasinungalingan,
Kesyo kinukuha raw para sa one-on-one
Nila ni Michael Jackson gagawin sa London,
Beat it! That is Bad, puro kayo ka-cheap-an.
Ngak, ngek, ngik, ngok, nguk! Iba rin kayo talaga,
Kung saan may sikat; patay o buhay, dun s’ya,
Okay lang ‘yun pero ‘wag namang ipokrita
Pagkat nung buhay ‘yun malamang minumura.
Kaya lubayan n’yo na o you just go to hell,
Basta dalawang sabay namatay ay anghel—
Ang King of Pop ay kapangalan ng Arch Angel
At si Farrah Fawcett naman ay Charlie’s Angel.
Hindi ako nagpapatawa mga hunghang,
Kung tutuusin ‘di nga n’yo maiisip ‘yan,
Pangyayaring ito ay isang punto lamang,
Sinapit ni Michael Jackson ay pag-isipan.
Kaya kayong mga sikat at mayaman daw,
Lalo’t mga kumakanta’t nambubulahaw,
Matutong mag-relax; ‘wag masyadong buwakaw;
‘Wag pare-pareho kanta sa araw-araw.
At ‘yung mga trip mag-number one ang plaka n’yo,
‘Wag naman sana bumibili lang ay kayo,
‘Pag inabot n’yo si Michael ay bilib ako,
Cute n’yan sundan n’yo na si Jacko ngayon mismo!
At dun sa one hundred most beautiful na person
Na gimik na naman ng isang publication,
Are you sure na wala d’yang mga Michael Jackson?
“Michael-likot”, puro retoks at “in-jackson.”
At meron pang isang sa aki’y gumugulo—
Dapat ‘yang “I am proud” palagi sa puso n’yo,
‘Di lang pag may okasyon nakiki-ride kayo,
kahit ano’ng mangyari ‘di na magbabago,
Nitong inyong idolo kulay Aprikano,

Joey de Leon is an actor/comedian on the verge of obscurity. He is a two-bit performer who have not achieved popularity beyond the Philippines and even there, his star value is fading fast. Here in the U.S. of A and other countries, the 3 P's (Pempengco, Pineda and Paquiao) are a source of pride for us Filipinos because their achievements have painted a larger Philippines on the map. For him to bad-mouth anyone of them is detestable and inexcusable for it blemishes the Filipino image which had became rosy lately because of what luminaries like Ellen Degeneres,Oprah and Celine Dion have to say about at least Charice. Joey de Leon is a hot potato that GMA should drop and shove into a gutter where he belong and could possibly feel at home in. Otherwise,GMA will go down with him as a whole lot of us Filipinos abroad are up in arms to boycott his shows on TFC and just watch the other Filipino channel. Maybe TFC should drop GMA. To GMA: Joey de leon is like the HIV virus. Get rid of him before he give you AIDS.

To PHILSTAR: How could you publish trash articles such as that by Joey de Leon? It is not newsworthy at all. What it is is an attack on someone we hold dear in our hearts because that someone made us proud to be Filipinos here abroad. To us, Charice is a hero by being herself and by being someone who made other people give Filipinos appreciative looks. When she put herself on the world stage she brought us with her. You just became a party to a mud-slinging campaign started by a malcontent who can't look at himself in the mirror and see what is there. His motivation could well be to catch attention on himself. Joey de Leon is a has-been that never really was. He is just someone grasping at straws strewn into the wind. I would write four-leeter profane words about him here but I am afraid my mother (MOMS) will hit my hands with a stick for stooping low. I'll just leave it to others to put into words what I won't. As it is, there's no shortage of those who would. Just look at the comments before this one and those in YouTube. I believe some of those are even directed at you. Maybe you should apologize to those afflicted by your editorial gaff.

To Joey de Leon:Why the sour-graping? Don't tell me you have not "mouth-off" (because you are an awful singer) other people's song yourself and repeatedly at that. To each his own device, buddy. Whatever you want to accomplish, go for it but leave others out of it, most of all Charice. Don't use them as a vessel by which you'll reach your goal. Your being a parasite is showing. To Freddie Aquilar:Patriotism is, by definition; the love, support and defense of one"s country. By that definition, I can't see where Charice et al, fell short of being patriotic Filipinos. Yours is a claim that have no merit at all. It is so shallow your motivation for doing so is questionable. Was it to promote Filipino patriotism or just to bring attention to yourself? To love, support and defend you country, you must also do the same for your countrymen. You are doing exactly the opposite of that. You are aiming your gun at your own foot. It would be easier and less painful for you to put your foot in your mouth;it will keep you from uttering needless diatribes. To Boy Abunda and Cris Aquino:Why can"t you call an apple,"apple"? Freddie Aquilar is wrong and you know it. You don"t need to minimize his titanic blunder. Just call it what it is. Be straightforward and give your honest opinion - the one in the back of your mind. You don't need to be nice to someone who is incapable of being nice. Equivocalism is not saying anything at all where truth is what matters.

If you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all. If somebody asked you for a comment, it's more prudent to say "no comment" than to critisize other people for who they are or what they do and who have not done you harm. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinions but opinions could easily become intrusions. It's like breaking into somebody else's house and thrashing the place up and nobody with a sense of righteousness would take that. Opinions should be well-thought of and their impact on others measured. Fair, truthful, meaningful and productive are just a few points to consider on what opinions should be. Shooting from the hip usually misses the target and could hit somebody or something else. Mr. Freddie Aguilar, I beg to differ from your idea of what patriotism means. The Filipino culture of today is an amalgamation of different cultures from within and without the Philippines. We are not a pure race and our language and dialects are derivatives of other tongues. Even the name of our country came from a foreign entity. So, what is a true Filipino? One who looks like and speak like the natives of our country 800, 700, 600 years ago? Who can fill that mold among the Filipinos of today? Our culture is unique in its diversity and that is due to the flexibility of Filipinos to absord the ways and means of others and molding them to fit our own needs. Boundaries now a days are just imaginary lines. Languages, ideals and religion are the only barriers remaining that's keeping the people of the world from converging into one big family. We Filipinos are well ahead in bridging the language barrier because of our ability to learn other people's languages fast. The Philippines is considered one of only a few English speaking nations. Hopefully, we can reconciliate our ideals and religion with that of others too. Ka Freddie, patriotism dwell in the hearts and minds of individuals and could be gauge by their words and their actions relative to their nationality. Unless you are gifted with that kind of sense enabling you to read what's within other people's thoughts and conscience, there's no way you can question their patriotism. Did those people whose patriotism you questioned ever said anything disparaging their being Filipinos or that they hate their fellow Filipinos? If not, your point of contention is without merit. With that, your motivation for your utterances comes to focus. What it is you are after? Self-promotion? Enviousness? Delve into those questions and volunteer some answers. If you can't clarify yourself then just fade away. Say no more of others if you cannot give an accounting of yourself. And me; I am a Filipino and I love my countrymen which unfortunately; includes you. I have nothing but goodwill for each and everyone of them but sometimes I have second thoughts about how to deal with people like you, Joey de Leon, et al. What makes you tick? What makes you bitter and scornful of others? Let me tell you a story out of my past. When I went to college in Manila I met students from all over the country. In communicating with them, we resorted to talking in English because some of them don't speak Tagalog and we can't come up with a dialect we all understand and speak. Are we less patriotic for doing so? That's the very reason why I write in English. I want to reach as many Filipinos as I can with my messages. It's a consideration you might want to apply to your unconscious rantings. Got the point? I would also question your patriotism, where it lies. Does it dwell in your pockets? I believe you owe a lot of people apologies for your intrusive behavior on their lives. For you, that's the only way out of the mess you predicated. Do that before it bites you where it hurts if it haven't yet. That is, if you can read and understand English.
